How to clip Kick streams while they are live
Whether you are the streamer, a moderator or a clipper working for a channel, the moments that travel are the ones posted while the stream is still on. Here is how to clip a Kick stream live, frame it for vertical and have it ready in seconds.
1. Paste the channel link
Copy the channel link, like kick.com/name, while the channel is live, and paste it into ClipLive. The stream plays in the workspace with its recent seconds ready to cut. If the channel is offline, ClipLive says so; paste it again once the stream starts.
2. Mark the moment
Press I where the moment starts and O where it ends. The waveform under the picture shows where the sound jumps, which is usually where the moment is. If it has just happened, press X for the last 15, 30 or 60 seconds.
3. Frame it and export
Choose 9:16 for TikTok, Shorts and Reels, 1:1 for feeds or 16:9 for X and YouTube. Slide the crop onto the streamer or the action, press C to create the clip, and download the MP4. A clip can be up to 60 seconds on the free plan, 5 minutes on Starter and 10 minutes on Pro.
Clipping for a Kick streamer
A lot of Kick clipping is done by clippers working for a channel. A few habits make the work faster and the clips better:
- Keep the channel open in ClipLive for the whole stream, so the recent seconds are always ready.
- Use X for reactions and I and O for longer bits, like a story or a challenge.
- Clip during the stream and post while it is still on, when the moment is still news.
- Agree with the streamer what you post and where, and follow Kick’s rules on reposting.
Streaming on Kick yourself?
Send the same feed from OBS to ClipLive with a stream key, and clip it with the lowest delay. OBS sends to two places with the free Multiple RTMP outputs plugin. See Clip Last for the one-key setup.
Clipping Twitch too? The steps are the same: how to clip a Twitch stream while it is live.
